Perfect bathing culture
A haven that combines meditative peace with stimulating vitality, the bathroom is increasingly becoming a space for experiences. A place we can imbue with our identity.
Exclusivity and luxury convey a new quality and refine everyday life. A special enamel – we are the only sanitary manufacturer to manufacture it to our own composition – is combined with high quality, dimensionally stable steel in a total thickness of 3.5 mm steel enamel in the world’s biggest enamelling furnaces.
Glass-like Kaldewei enamel is really hard – harder even than steel – and so it is almost impossible to scratch it with any of the materials you normally find in a bathroom. If you rub metal against enamel, the metal rubs off but the enamel remains the same. Children can play in and on it, you can bathe the dog in it – even scouring pads won’t damage the glass-hard surface, no matter how enthusiastic your cleaning efforts.
Over the years, Kaldewei has developed a special enamel in its own laboratories that is so thin that it responds flexibly to impacts or objects being dropped on it. Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm is so strong and impact resistant that it is practically impossible for the surface to be affected by any normal bathroom object.
Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm is an excellent heat conductor, and assumes the temperature of the hot water in just a few seconds. This means that the back and/or armrests of a Kaldewei steel enamel bath are also pleasantly warm.
Easy-care and hygienic
Not even the microscopically tiniest scratches occur on the glass-hard, non-porous surface of Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm. Bacteria hardly have a chance to settle on it. One difference between baths made of (softer) acrylic, and a tremendous hygiene benefit over tiled shower areas. The pearl effect is a quality finish on the enamel that makes it even easier to clean. Water simply trickles down the surface, taking almost all traces of limescale and dirt with it. Thanks to the pearl effect, a soft, damp cloth is all you need for cleaning.
Hardly any other material offers as many advantages in the bathroom as steel enamel. Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm goes perfectly with ceramic glazes, glass shower partitions and tiles. As probably the biggest item in the bathroom, the bath plays a key role in achieving a consistent, elegant look in it.
Lots of synthetic materials are damaged by the sun’s UV rays. Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm is lightfast and UV resistant, so it does not fade. Even after 30 years, the colour will look just as good as it did on the first day.
Kaldewei manufactures its own enamel. This is the only way to ensure that all the requirements for a bath or shower tray are met. Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm is resistant to all cosmetic and medical bath additives and perfumes that are tolerated by human skin. Even hair dyes and nail polishes won’t leave a mark on it.
Burning and glimmering objects such as cigarettes or candles won't leave a burn mark or traces of smoke on Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm. As Kaldewei steel enamel 3.5 mm doesn’t burn, no toxic vapours will occur in the event of a fire – unlike with synthetic materials. It’s better to be safe.
Experts all over the world consider Kaldewei baths and shower trays the unbeatable style icons of bathing culture – which is confirmed by the many design awards it has received. With some 80 prizes, Kaldewei has won more awards than most other bathroom manufacturers in the world.
Kaldewei baths and shower trays are made exclusively in Germany, and with daily use and the appropriate cleaning will still be as beautiful after (at least) 30 years as they were on the first day.
That’s quality made in Germany.
Kaldewei baths and shower trays are made exclusively from natural raw materials, and have a far better environmental balance than acrylic baths. They are 100% recyclable, and at the end of their product life cycle go straight back into steel production as raw materials.
